How to ride the subway in Seoul





 Everyone has a first-time subway, and there are a lot of people who have never been there before. However, everybody ① Purchase ticket ② Pass ticket gate ③ Ride the subway ④ Transit ⑤ Arrive at the destination. And if you purchase a one-time transportation card, 500 won deposit is refunded.
 
1. Purchase ticket
 
 On the Disposable Transportation Card Charger screen, select the arrival station. Or select the station directly using the route search in the bottom right of the screen. Then select the number of purchases, and then add the fare and a deposit of 500 won. Once the release begins, wait for a while and a disposable transport card will be released. You can get a deposit of 500won by putting a disposable transportation card in the refund box after getting off. The prepaid transportation card is rechargeable so you can use it until the charge is exhausted and recharge it. For postpone transportation cards, public transportation charges are included in the credit card details.
 
2. Pass ticket gate
 
 Identify the correct ticket gate in the direction you want to go. When you pass the gate, you make a traffic card contact with the traffic card type terminal and pass through.
 
3. Ride the subway
 
 Take a step back when the train comes in and be careful not to let your foot fall between the platform and the train when you ride. When the train door is about to close, do not force it and wait for the next train. Make sure the destination of the train goes to the destination and board. For example, if you want to go from Seoul Station to Dongdaemun Station, take Line 1. At this time, if Line 1 goes toward Dobongsan or Soyosan. You can get off at Dongdaemun Station. On the other hand, if you are on Line 1 in the direction of Incheon, you should not ride. If you do, you will go in the opposite direction.
 
4. Transit
 
 If you need a transfer to your destination, check the transfer station and change the train at the transfer station. Check the route and the direction of the transfer, and follow the sign that says "the place to change" to easily reach the transfer platform. You do not have to go through the ticket gate to transfer, so you do not need to purchase a transportation card for transfer.You do not need to purchase a transportation card for transfer.
 
5. Arrive at the destination
 
 When the train arrives at the destination, check the exit on the destination side and contact the traffic card with the terminal and pass through the ticket gate. For disposable transportation cards, you can get back a deposit of 500 won by putting a transportation card into the deposit refund machine after getting off.
